    That little strap on PCV.....

    got my 3 book factory manual set in..............thanks ebay..........was lookin through it......found the PCV section.........it calls that strap from the PCV to the top nut on the coolant tube..........a heat transfer strap......WTF? ......and here all the while i thought it was some sort of ground strap............the things you learn

    that's a new one on me too.....it's been a long time since that's been on my car. I always figured it was a ground strap to keep static from building up from the gases running through the pcv tube and possibly lighting something off in there. I forget even where that went to but I though it grounded to the fuel rail.

    ^^^ It is on the rail, your right. I think its made of aluminum so that explains the heat transfer part. Not sure it was necessary though.

    In really cold weather, the moisture from the engine being sucked through the PCV in a venturi type of effect could freeze, that's what the strap is for.
