Navy Blue Metalic- 2000 Z-28
Lingenfelter 420 HP package worth it or not?
Im thinking of sending my 2000 Z28 to Lingenfelter to get the 350 CID package put in it. Here is what comes with it.
Package includes:
420 BHP/400 Lbs-Ft of torque.
Engine removal, inspection and disassembly
Lingenfelter CNC porting and polishing of cylinder heads
Competition Cams valve springs
2.02" / 1.57" Stainless steel intake/exhaust valves
Three angle valve job, correct setting of spring tensions
Lingenfelter designed Competition Cams hydraulic roller camshaft
Professional installation, testing and tuning
Ported and polished LS1 throttle body
Port matched intake manifold
Corsa stainless steel cat back exhaust (im going to get the GMMG chambered)
Whisper low restriction air filter housing and K&N air filter
Chassis dyno testing before and after installation
Professional installation, testing and pcm tuning
Lingenfelter 3 year/ 36,000 mile warranty
Excellent drivability, highway mileage not adversely affected
Package Price $7,045.00
Normal installation time required: 2 weeks with prior notification.
I dont think 7 G's is worth it just for 100 extra hp and torque, but its also for the professional installation and the warranty. Plus it's LINGENFELTER! It might bring up the value of my car a little. (maybe)
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

my two cents... i was thinking of the lpe 383.....15 grand......after a little research i found i could beef up my rear-end, do a head/cam and get the ati prochager from EPP and still be in the 15 grand range!
if you are willing to spend 7g's talk to EPP. it will put you in the 450RWHP range. the lpe you are looking at is 420 to the motor not the ground!
the guy i talked to said his car dyno stock @278rwhp......after the lpe383....387rwhp! for a whopping 15grand.
i would do more research or talk to bob at Exotic performance plus!LS7 clutch,01 slave,Corsa 3" stainless exhuast,drilled/slotted rotors + ceramic pads,160 thermo,Mti clear lid,msd 8.5 wires & Ngk plugs...more to come!

yeah dude, for that much money you can get way more power than 400 base........your paying for the name in this case.
Get your exhaust done up, an ls6 intake, a bigger cam, buy some stage 2 ls6 heads from pp or the ones from tsp and your set, easily over 400whp.
heads=1200 or you can be grand and pay 2300 for afr's
cam= 350ish
intake= 400ish (cheaper used 300 to 350)
LT's and y pipe combo= 800 to 900......i am running mids and it is not much of a difference i did them for clearance issues.
catback= depending on the sound i would go with the adjustable borla catback 700ish
lid- 100 cheaper if used
that is close to 4,000
That is easily over 400whp anybpdy agree with me on that.
then get other little goodies like arp bolts all around a tune and there are a gangload of other things you can do for under 7,000.........spark plugs/wires, gears (mikronite!!!!) etc all the free mods.
yeah..........you can do alot with 7g

PEWTER- 2000 CAMARO SS #3821
Every test of there cars has shown them to be bulletproof and you are correct that you are paying for the name and warranty but it may be worth it to just drive and not troubleshoot as much.
