Lifter tick
I sold my 01 WS6 recently and I am looking at an 02 T/A collector edition. Before I sold mine it started having a noise which I assumed was lifter tick. Didn't happen on cold start but started a minute after, could hear it under the car as well. Well, just looked at an 02 T/A collector edition with 25k on it and it had the same noise.
Thoughts? If it is lifter tick, is this common at 25k?

It is common and normal, because our engines are alum. until it gets to temp its noticeable, but once it reaches op. temp its usualy quiets down a bit, some people even say synthetic oil quiets it down a bit.

1999 Formula WS6 M6-sold- 2001 Silverado Z71
Lifter tick and piston slap sound different but if it is piston slap, then its ok.
Sometimes my engine sounds like a sewing machine...I just drive it anyways. Mine sounds like lifter tick or maybe an exhaust leak.

Now that I think about it, it is piston slap. Have heard lifter tick before in GMs, sounds totally different.
Thanks guys
