check out the write up at ls1howto.com for the ls1 to ls6 intake swap. It gives detailed instructions on removing the intake. One thing to watch for is the oil pressure sender on the drivers side rear of the block. Very easy to break that off with the brake booster vacuum hose when pulling the intake out. It's cheap to replace but better if not broken at all.

There are two knock sensors under the intake, you're throwing the code for the front one. If you're going to remove the intake I'd replace both sensors while it's off.

If you can turn a wrench at all you can swap out those sensors. 2 other things I can think of are don't overtighten the manifold bolts when you put it back on, the torque readings are in in/lbs and not ft/lbs. I think it works out to be ~10 ft lbs or so. The other thing is the socket size for the sensor. It's big. I forget what size but I think it was like a 20mm or something like that. I'll look it up this afternoon and post up the size.

I had to replace mine, the seals around them was soaked in oil, don't know how they got like that, but it caused the front to go bad. I to replaced both of them. Haven't had any problems since then.
