No this would not cause vapors to come into the car.

Here are a couple of threads to fix the pcv.

Now for the vapor issue. Check the rubber boot that is under the center counsel. This is the most likely area the exhaust fumes can enter the car, if it is torn or missing. Also look at the firewall where the heater core is (passenger side) make sure is isn't cracked or loose.

is it a fuel smell or an exhaust smell? Either way I would fix it because it's already started to effect your spelling.

Are you running a full length exhaust? If not, as Scott suggested, fumes can find their way into the cabin of the car through the shifter boot if it's cracked, along with any other openings that may be present. You might also check for exhaust leaks under the car.

Have you had a fuel pump replaced? Maybe check to see if a fuel door mod was done and not sealed properly.

If it's exhaust fumes, Id check my exhaust system for leaks first. Any decent leak could find it's way into the cabin.

Get it on some jack stands and put some rags in the tips start and search for a leak, you will hear it pushing air
