what mods do you have? how much you willing to spend?
LS6 intake can be found on ebay or craiglist for $300
Headers - this becomes a personal choice. Good headers can be got for about 350-450, Kooks, GMMC headers cost much more..

well i plan on doing both and i looked on ebay i couldnt find one for less than 400 used and for a gm performance summit has it for 512 with free shipping id rather spend 100 more for a new one i dont wanna spend that much on a intake but kinda looks that way and right now im working my way up to a cam i wanna get the headers and intake done first then cam and stall

Your best purchase to be if your heading for cam/heads is to get the suspension work done first. power means nothing if it can't be planted to the ground. Everyone does headers, intake & air lid. So doing those first is no problem. It's when you start doing cam and heads that other things begin to break. Over 400 RWHP it's not if but when the rear will go. Our cars have enough power to snap it on stock power.
Best advice is to get the car solid first then work on power. You'll decided which way you will go.
I take it this is your first LS1 car.

Check out eBay for some good, used headers and an LS6 intake. Install them yourself as well. That way, once you have the car tuned, the rear O2s will be tuned out as well as the EGR/AIR.

Deciding on my set up, it seems that one thing leads to another. I want to do headers and cat back and lid.....but then I need to do a tune so might as well delete a.i.r. too. Seems like if you're going to one thing you pretty much need to do the other stuff to go with it.
