Info An A Carb Ls1

I am thinking about doing a carb conversion on my LS1. I am going with a 408 stroker on a 6.0 iron block. Is there anyone who knows if anyone else is running this combination with much success?? If so what is the horse power level that a carb LS1 can get to. I have heard that I am stupid for even thinking about this but I would like to give it a try. Please any info would be apprecaited a lot. Thanks guys.

Carbed engine can still make great horsepower. But the draw back to it, it is always !great! to have it out and have some engine dino time to really tweek it. In school i got to do that with a chev. 350. Had 5 hours or so tweekin it with timing, carb spacers, jets and what not. But the time is expensive.
