Ignition Nightmare.....
Ok, so I have two other posts, and I've been trying to update as I go, but with being on a submarine in drydock, it is kind of hard to find time to work on it. I have a 2000 SS, and a few months ago, I changed out the spark plugs and plug wires. The car ran fine before, but now I have a pcode for multiple cylinder misfire... I checked all grounds, and it seems to be one whole bank that isnt firing (2,4,6,8) , and I tried disconnecting each coil to see if I melted one, and it sounds no different... I'm thinking either the wiring harness for the passenger bank or maybe the relay that it plugs into is bad... Any Help? this is my first LS1, and as awesome as the are, I am seriously starting to swear by a Gen I or even II block...

Is the main plug-in for the packs plugged in. Its just above the coils in the center, one for each side. If so, do you have spark at all on those cylinders.

yes, it is plugged in, it was the first thing I unplugged, then I started with the individual coils.

Do you think you may have put them on upside down? I remember once that I almost did it. That would definately cause a misfire.

no, definately put the boot down and the receiver side to the coil up... I stopped by my local Chevy dealership whom was servicing the ignition of a LS1 C5..... described my problem.... and they told me that they would basically be shooting in the dark until they fixed it.... real assuring....

Did the misfires start right after your plug/wire change? If you're 100% sure you're not getting spark on bank 2 then you probably damaged the harness during the plug change. Do you have a multi-meter?

I'm getting 12 volts to the coils, and measuring 0-10 ohms reistance on all 8 coils, so the packs are good, I'm going to try and hit up another dealership on monday to see about a schematics diagram, if anyone has the diagram for the ignition, can you email it to me at jaxvette95@yahoo.com?
