Ignition / Cranking Issue (No Response)
Well basically this was just a once a month issue, but has slowly become more regularly occuring to the point its multiple times a day. Basically it seems to only happen when the car is (warm) not hot/cold but roughly between 130-180 ish.
When I turn the key I get a dash display and i hear the fuel pump prime and then when i go to crank it, NOTHING!!!! The guages try to reset as if the car was about to crank such as my fuel level gauge and all my lights show up. Basically no sounds at all. no clicks, no ticks, no grinds nothing!!!
Now the wierd part is if i let the car sit for about 15 seconds with the key left in, it cranks right up almost everytime, but im not gonna rely on this and just get it fixed.
I dont think its VATS because my security light is off.
I dont think its the battery because my fuel pump primes, lights show up, cutout open and closes, windows roll down...the works....
Its not the Starter Relay as i just Replaced it.
Ive come to think that really all thats left is
Ignition Lock cylinder
Ignition Soliniod
Starter
Anyone ever have this problem before? its more annoying than anything but im not gonna rely on it to work everytime2002 Z28 Camaro A4

sounds like a heat soaked starter issue to me. Might be time to replace it and build a heat shield for it.

well ive done alot of the checks advised in that post
Ive checked the Ignition relay
Ive checked the Starter relay
Its not Vats as unlocking/locking doesnt help nor is my sec light on
I dont have a manual so no clutch switch like the other guy
Park/Neutrual switch seems to be fine cause ive tried cranking it in P and N and no luck
I guess my next step is checking 12v at the starter...
Any more ideas?
