    idle issues

    2001 Camaro ss
    mods:
    livernois motorsports stage 2 head and camshaft
    granatelli maf
    proted and polished maf
    k*n intake
    stock tranny/stock converter

    We are working on this vehicle for a customer... The problem lies in when moving from park to drive or reverse.. The car dies in reverse frequently.

    Reverse is worse than in forward. Once the car is in motion under normal driving conditions it will never die at stoplights, after hard accels...etc.

    idle in gear is set all the way to 925 and base idle is 850. We have played the the IAC a ton and still cant make it run proerly when moving the selector into reverse *Esecially* under hot start conditions.

    Any input?

    The reverse and drive A/F ratios are different and are both tuneable. Chances are just the drive ratio was tuned, so the reverse needs more fuel.

    I have a a4 1998 camaro. and it has the same problem, it loses power eyerytime i brake for the stoplight or when i put it in drive or reverse. The voltage will also drop. Pls does anybody know the cause?

    you have a cam also? What mods do you have?

    have you logged and setup the idle air table? What are IAC counts at hot idle? This is just a normal tuning issue.

    there are no forward/reverse VE and MAF tables, just one of each.

    I know it sounds like a lie but I had the exact problem your talking about and fixed it by cleaning the MAF.
