I need some help please. (A/C related)

I have a 1994 firebird formula and am having trouble with the air conditioning. It works fine blowing out it just wont get cold. It also has plently of freon and not really sure what could be the problem? Anyone know what it could be or experienced a similar problem? Thanks

the amount of freon in the system is critical. If you have too liitle or too much, it will blow warm. If you know either by system or pressure if its correct, then problem could be a bad cycling switch.

Would I have to take it to a shop to fix that or could i do it myself? Oh and anyway for me to tell? Im pretty sure the freon is good.

Is the compressor coming on? Only way to check the charge is to put a set of gauges on it. If the charge is too low it could also be out on low pressure keeping it from coming on. Here's a LT1 AC performance chart off shoebox's site if you have access to a gauge set: http://shbox.com/1/ac_performance_chart.jpg

The compressor is comming on, I think it might have to do with something electrical?

If the compressor is coming on I'd try charging it with one of those kits you can get at the auto parts stores. They typically only come with a low pressure gauge but that should be good enough. Not expensive and worth a try. If it was a wiring/fuse issue it wouldn't come on.
