How much HP/TQ to do a wheelie????

Dumb question, but i figured if an f body had over 600 hp it would do it.
(when i mean wheelie, i mean like a big one... not just lifting the tires a wee bit)

Stock will pull a tire.

Just have to hook and have the suspension to do it.

By 'pull a tire' I mean when you launch you get a front tire off the ground.

Damage...depends on how far you pull them up.

I would rather barely pull the tires and keep the car on the ground.
Wheelie bars if needed.

I should have footage of mine pulling them a touch come April.

Been told I lifted the passenger front, but I didn't get pics or video.

say u get both wheels a few inches off the ground, would that do any damage coming down? god that would be so cool....

and also your suspension. single adjustable shocks can help you pull a wheelie if you really loosen up the tension up front but its gunna be ROUGH to say the least on the way down. QA1s however you can adjust it to pull the front on the way up and still keep the oil pan from smashing the ground on the way down

To start off NO 600 would not be enough........ To bring it way up like your talking about. Those cars are too heavy for 600 to do that.
A few inches not much damage other than a none driver could loose control!!
Now when you get to 20" and above you loose total site of the lane and guard rail..... I have some footage I'll try to upload on the computer next week for you of our Ford on the bumper for about 120 feet... That was with about 650Hp at the tires in a 2800lb. car doing 1.28 60 foots.

Shouldn't you lift the drivers side before the passenger side?

ALWAYS!!!! Unless you have one of those motors that rotates backwards.
One good backfire and it can cause it to spin backwards for the rest of that run cycle.

You know what...you are right. It was the drivers side. He was sitting on that side, just spaced it.

Because of the rotational force of tq. Look at any pics you'll see the drivers side higher. Unless it has been caged and back halved. The way you can help itfrom being so biased is to put a bag in the pass. rear spring to stiffen it up. An d on leaf spring cars there is a extra lear on the pass. side.

With the transbrake and launching at around 4000 rpm...I had around 660 to the wheels.....fuck up some oil pan and front end though. Knock the fillings out of your teeth.
