how long should i break in my motor?
i just got the bottom end re-done on my 2001 z28 and was wondering how many miles i should put on before opening it up........

Red- 1998 Pontiac Trans Am
to be very safe, run it for 1000 and use regular motor oil, not synthetic because you still have to seat the rings. After 500 change the oil and one more at 1500 after your 1000 break in. Just went through it again. 2nd motor
