I did the same thing, it only took about 90 minutes to complete. Billy Graham auto salvage sells these motors new for $50 bucks shipped to your door UPS overnight.Thier number is 205-668-1169. He will send you all kinds of performance catalogs and a calculator to boot. Great place for f-body parts new and used.

I have replaced the power windows in both doors 3 times. I complained to GM and they reimbursed me $934. That is one crappy vendor that makes this part !

I have heard of people having better luck with the Autozone motor.

Does the Autozone motor seem any stronger or faster than the stock one?

No personal experience, but it might at least have a good warranty! Could save you some money down the line.

You can either get a 2 year warranty one or pay 5 bucks extra for the lifetime.

    Problem with window motor

I've noticed lately that the passenger side window is taking longer to go up. Not very familiar with this problem. When I called GM, they said that it could be either the motor $154 (????), or the "regulator" $175. Any thoughts? I've seen the link for replacing the motor yourself, but I really don't want to be drilling all kinds of holes in the door panel, and I'm not sure if it's actually the motor that's messed up.

If it stops, goes up an inch or two, stops, goes up an inch or two etc. needing time in between it's the motor. Bet the $154 was just for the motor and not the install. It's a common problem, you might find out after removing the panel the motor was replaced before and no drilling will be required.

I've done my drivers door, and drilling the holes WAS a little unnerving. But it was really pretty simple. I plan on doing the passenger door soon as it is slow. I'd definately reccomend doing it to save over $150. And the autozone LT warr. motor works great.

I just repaced mine today. It was very easy as the holes were already drilled from as previous owner. It took less than a half hour. The link above was great. I went with a GM motor...cost me $150 bucks...Ouch!!! :

I'll be replacing mine with an Autozone motor tomorrow morning. I'll post up and verify it fixed the problem ... sounds right on the money. I have never heard of anyone replacing the regulator. Maybe if it just slowly rolls up without stopping.

They oughta' start putting self-adjusting brakes on the windows so everytime you roll it down, it's adjusts itself ...

I know that's really not funny
