    Hot air=lousy performance???

I need a little advise from those out there... I own a 2000 Camaro SS convertible, (purchased it this spring). I've never owned a car of this performance before, so I've never experienced this issue until now. I notice my car runs ALOT better when the outside temp. are in the 70's or cooler, at higher temps. (80's or 90's) it seems to "dog down" a bit. It's not slow, just does'nt run as smooth. Is this normal, or do I have some kind of engine troubles here? No check engine lights come on, and the car has been tuned up, as well as a coolant exchange within 10,000 miles ago. Appreciate help from anybody, not just LS1 owners. Thanks!

Heat is the enemy of engines, along with thin, poorly oxygenated air.... It's normal.

FI cars are a lot worse than NA cars with the power loss in the heat.
My Procharged SS lost near 60 HP in the heat of the summer.

    Sadly now demodded :(

Running my car here in Phoenix makes it seem slower (it probably is) compared to when I was in Los Angeles back in July. Better air (read: more dense) with colder temps made it seem as if it had 20-30 more hp. It FELT that much stronger anyway. No way to compare other than SOP feel.

if you think about it. it makes sense. thats the whole part of the "cold air intake" if the air is hot. you're not getting that cooler air. so that makes the air less dense. theoretically, equalling a lose of power.
