    hood cable grommet

    any tips on how to get the grommet back into the firewall.i just replaced my hood cable on my 01 ws6 and just cant seem to get it to pop back in ?

    spray wd-40 or simular on it and it'll slide in easier

    i wish i did the hood cable when i did the clutch master since i had the booster out i could have got to it easily.anyway i tried the lube thing my next plan of attack will be to black silicone it all up and get it in as much as i can.thanks

    A little dish soap works too. Are you trying to put the grommet in without the cable?

    no its on the cable,the cables all installed except for the grommet pushing thru into the engine bay
