HIGH N0X readings on last emissions test?

Hey y`all...@ my last emissions test i got a high NoX reading which caused my car to fail

anyone know what causes high Nox readings? They were about double the alowable limit!

There are a few things that can cause high nox readings. Most common would be a bad egr. Have you done any replacements of O2 sensors or your cats?

Have an 02 so no EGR..Cats were replaced w/ kooks hi-flo metal cats in 08 ,pretty sure 02`s original (66,000 mi on car now) Im running Kooks LT`s .I have in the passed gotten some dtc`s for insufficient heat something

cant remember right now though and ''others'' related to the 02`s so..............? Ill try to dig out my notes on what dtc`s i got .

.also i was told that the hi-flo metal cats go''bad'' pretty fast AND forgot to mention that ive had the LT`s ,ORY,and CAI on w/o a custom tune

How did you pass the visual part of the test with aftermarket cats?

The first time the guy i guess doesnt care?

The second was ,well, monitary compensation.

I did go to another guy in between those two and he told me that i HAVE to have cats with a E.O. # on them for him to even test me ( I have them waiting in a box in my room! for the someday when i need to put them on!!) But most see the LT`s and say ,,,cant help ya!........
