    high idle problem need help

    Hey Everyone,

    i've got a problem with a 35th aniversary 2002 Camaro SS convertible 6 speed.

The problem is that the engine will idle high when the car is in neutral and im coasting. it doesnt have high milage, and i can figure out what it is.

i was looking on line and i think it could be a ground issue but does anyone know what it could be? has anyone delt with something similar... maybe a list of things i could check.

    Thank you all,
    Fotis Yarufalie

Check for a vacuum leak. Most likely culprit is the PCV hose on the passenger side of the intake. Could also be a dirty or faulty IAC, or an air leak in the intake ducting that is allowing unmetered air into the engine after the MAF sensor.

Just saw you have a '98. May also be an issue with the EGR.

I got myself confused... I read the post and then saw your profile. I don't do well in hot weather.

I have a 99' Firehawk 119k Miles but in flawless condition, and I too have high idle but not immediately after turning on the car, its usually after I let the car warm up. I have checked endlessly for vacuum leaks and cannot find anything. I did however have the CATS removed, can anyone tell me if this may be the problem

    Thanks
