    HiD's

    i bought some ebay headlights and on the top of them they have this sticker that says "HIDs ARE NOT ALLOWED". are they bullshittin me or should i not install them ?

    Sticker there is probably there for legal purposes... To excuse the manufacturer(sp) of liability, because some local/state laws do not allow them.

    Like lets say headers with the CEL tuned out. Kinda like use at your own risk.

    Did you buy lenses? If so, then you can't use HIDs as they are too hot for the lenses and could possibly melt them.

    Back when I wanted HIDs for my car, a friend of mine told me that I had to be careful when choosing the right kit, as the kit's wattage/kelvin could melt my lenses.

    See if they have a heat rating on them. It might burn them up.

    You could email them stating you intend on using them off road only and wanted to know if HID bulbs would melt the plastic.

    I agree it could be there for liability issues but they easily could also be warning about melting.
