RED- 2002 FORMULA
Hhheeeeelllllppppppp!!!!!!!!
Ok, yesterday I am coming home from gym . I was driving my 02 Firebird Formula, 5.7, auto. Mods are cold air intake and a intake spacer. I was at a stop light, when I started going car was sluggish. It was nor revving high, It seemed like I was barely giving it gas, even though I had it floored. Went to second and back to normal, did this all the way home. No engine lights came on carpet not in way, nothing on brake, hand brake off. When I finally got home I cut car off. Waited a minute, started car and floored it and it was back to normal. WTF HAPPENED? Computer problem? My wife said it did this 3 weeks ago I just thought she was making sh$t up because I had to use her car and she wanted to make me feel bad. I guess not.

sounds like a tranny problem. it sounds like something in the valve body is stuck not allowing it to move the shift valve.
how many miles are on it?

it sounds to me like it's not shifting down into first gear. Next time it does it count the shifts and see how many gears it goes through to get up to highway speeds.

09 EclipseGT 75 Chevy 4x4- 2001 Trans-Am 13 F-XT
If it wasn't revving in neutral or park either I would think fuel filter or pump.

hate to say it, but i had a similar problem with my old grand am when the transmission went. when i came to a stop (in particular after the car was above 45mph), the car would almost stall because it wasnt shifting out of overdrive. it started to do this more frequently after about a month of when it first happened.

RED- 2002 FORMULA
Thanks guy. Car only has problem in 1st gear. I thought maybe trans myself but when I had trans go trans would slip. This is not going above 2 grand and slow as crap. Dove car about 30 miles today with no problems. Dropped off at Pontiac dealership today. Wanted to see if they would cover bubbles anyway and buff out car and repair place where sap had dripped. Car has 69000 miles and runs strong.
