Black- 99 Camaro
help on water pump please
1999 camaro z28 trying to install a stock water pump back on. when you install the gaskets that go behind the water pump do you install them dry or do you put a thin layer or rtv or some kind of sealant over them?

I use spray on "hi tack" on the gasket only. Works great. But you can go dry too. I'm not a fan of RTV. Just my oppinion.

2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
I put a thin layer of something my dad handed me, can't remember what it was, some sort of gasket sealer. I replaced my pump at 112k I believe, and am now at 152k with no problems whatsoever.
