    Help... Removing Center Console

Hey friends. I finally got my B&M shifter in the mail today. I decided to make it a 3 evening process so that I don't get too pissed.

Today I was taking the console and everything else apart and realized that its damn near impossible to remove the center console. There's a roll pin in the e-brake that is hindering my progress. Does anybody know how to remove a roll pin as I'm lacking the intelligence?

I forced the console off with the e-brake in max position, but scuffed the passenger side of the piece that covers the stereo. I'd like to remove the pin so that I don't do any further damage to my nice black interior.

I'll update with my progress, and Thanks for the help in advance...

The piece that covers the stereo shouldn't need to be removed.

There are two 10mm bolts on the sides down by where your feet go. Two screws under that coin holder, two more bolts in the center console storage space, then you need the e-brake up all the way.
If I remember correctly, there is a bolt under the ashtray as well.

Once you have it, you can get to it pretty easily. Might have to find the right angle to remove it though. Left from the back first and kinda pull towards the back a bit. E-brake handle should slide through.

you don't remove it, there is enough room to slide it off with the cover on. Try reclining your seats to give you a little more room to play, but it just slides off.

Don't waste your time messing with the pin... you will just get more frustrated.

thanks guys. thats exactly what mine looks like right now, Dirt and all... I had such a hard time removing that center piece because of the e-brake handle. I couldn't pull it up or out so I had to lift, but that was putting pressure on the stereo hence the small scuff I now own. I was just worried from the angle I was putting that something small and plastic was gonna give. I guess I just wasn't workin it right

did you hit the release on the ebrake handle so it can go straight up?

lol on the release... I learned that a small flat head located in the right place will allow free movement of the ebrake. Wish I would've known that from the beginning.

Other than that, Everything went well. I debated about adding in the B washer so that it was back further than stock, but decided to keep the stock location.

The difference in feel is incredible. I think this should be one of the first mods to anyones 6spd. Heres some pics of my venture, Enjoi!

If I was just replacing the stick, and not the whole shifter base, does the the console need to come out or just the top part with the boot? Thanks

Just the top part is all you need for just the stick.
