Help with noise/code

Yesterday I noticed a noise coming from the engine compartment. Sounds like a "grunt" or muffle noise, like a manifold leak. Car sounds like a v6, and it is throwing a code (or at least the service engine light is now on).

I have 88k miles on my 2000 Z. Could it be a sensor that is not operating properly. I hate to take to the dealer. I live in Gville Florida and am new here so I don't know anyone.

Has anyone experienced this problem or know an inexpensive way to diagnose? THanks.
