    Help! new sound from engine

Well i changed my oil the other day and i found this wonderful noise upon start up... it is a little bit louder in person...

also this is the first oil change with the car in my name... so i dont know if the previous owner had an aditive in it? The new oil is Castrol 10w-30

what do you guys think it can be?

Also am unsure if the previous owner ran synthetic or conventional oil... Do you guys think me putting in conventional oil might cause this noise?

WOW! my car sounds almost identical!!!today i put white sheppard stop leak in my car and it has the exact same sound as that im wondering the same thing about my car. i just posted a thread about it. so if anyone can help us it would be appreciated. does it sound like its coming from the block? like the pistons are schreeching? i usually use synthetic 5w-30 and i think thats recomended.. for ls1's but as for that noise i have no clue what the deal is but need to figure it out asap! if anyone can help that would be great! thanks for posting that video!

mileage is just under 88,000 and sound seems to be only on the drivers side but can not tell where it is coming from ... it is louder around the wheel well but that could just be because it is a big space making it echo

could be a collapsed lifter or a loose rocker...

Were you 'airing' the engine out a bit? Had it up in the 5000rpm range???

Read up on 'Seafoam" and clean out the engine first to remove any 'junk additives' that were added to the oil by the previous owner. The lifter(s) sound a little pumped out.

i have not had it above 3000rpm since the oil change...

i was planning on doing lifters, cam, push rods, and springs in a few months... since it is my daily driver do you guys think it is ok to run it the way it is?
