Atomic Orange- 66 Cobra
Help needed please!
My name is John Chesnut and am a new member to the forum. I have scratch built a 1966 Cobra replica. I built a tubular space frame and used C-5 suspension, brakes, wheels and tires. I am using an LS6 engine with a T-56 6speed tranny. I engineered a conversion for the Differential so that I can run a driveshaft instead of the transaxle.
I have a fuel cell that I want to run in the car which would rule out the use of an intank fuel pump. Does any body know if there is a pump and line kit that would allow me to easily accomplish this? Or, what the appropriate parts might be. I want to use the stock fuel rail and that connection. The engine is stock so I don't need a racing pump.
Thanks in advance for any help!! John

Atomic Orange- 66 Cobra
I will post pictures shortly. The body and chassis are at paint right now. The chassis is a steel space frame with with a welded in trans tunnel to form the a back bone. Then I skin it with .040 thick auminum panels. The Body simply slide on. The chassis is strong and torsionally stiff. Twice as stiff as the C6. Total weight is under 2000lbs and has 52% rear weight. The car is a modern super car wrapped in snake skin. Shelby wanted to but a chevy V8 in the first Cobras. But, Chevy wouldn't supply him. I figure better late than never.
I also have built an aluminum chassis and made a Hot Rod truck desgin (1923) that uses all Vette drivetrain. If interested you can see at www.chesnutmotorsports.com. Just click on "photos".
