Help! broke alternator wire harness

I just got done doing my driver's side motor mount, so I took the car out for a ride, I am 2 miles into my drive and notice that battery isn't charging and I was running on battery power. Completely bummed, I took the car home and began to take the alternator off again, then after moving it a little, the wire (not the ground wire) broke at the harness, I did not take it off from the top before I took the bolts off like I should have. I followed battery disconnect procedure each time taking off the alternator. I would assume that the wire was damaged sometime during install, ergo the non-charging. What sucks is that if I fix the wire issue and find out that my alternator is toasted for some reason. Has anyone ever ran into breaking this wire, if so, I would appreciate some advice. I do have enough wire left to splice into a new adapter. If I had enough wire coming out of the adapter, I would of spliced it, but it broke right at the adapter. Thanks in advance.

figured it out, I can re-use the harness.

i did the same thing had to buy a new plug had no wire to work with. mine broke right off at the plug. alternator was fine

That is a great link to have, thanks. I was able to splice the wire take the harness plug apart and was able to push the wire back into the blue plunger and re-hooked it up. I started the car and it was fine.
