HELP!!! Is The 02 Collectors Edition Rear end Different then others??

The reason i ask is because obviously this is my car... and i'm doing the cam install and gear install using my friends shop... Now we took apart the differental to take the old 3.42s out and prep for the 4.10s... NOW!!! The weird problem is the gasket that came with the install kit DOESN'T fit the yolk in the differental!!!! It wont slide over it..... We check every gasket in the shop against it and have no klew why it wont fit???? I know my rear is a 7.5 10 bolt but were they manufactured different?? My friend who is helping me with the install specializes in F-Bodies and said "he has NEVER seen this before"

Do we need to order a special one???? I bought the motive gears btw....

You mean the seal right-not a gasket.I would get a different one from an auto parts store an see if it fits-probably just the wrong seal in the package.

I hope so... And yea thats what i meant sorry... But we tried EVERY seal in his shop and nothing fit... Mayb he just didnt have any that fit... Any idea which one is best??

i know there was a updated yoke for the 01-02's with a diff size seal.

So they updated the yoke on 01-02s-does this mean that they beefed up other stuff in the rear axle too?

nope......they were tryin to fix the leak...never did though
