    Headlight Moving Up and Down:

    Hi all,

My driver side headlight decided to move up and down constantly and was wandering if there is a fix for it.

Note: it does not move when I turn off the headlights, only when turned on is when the issues occurs.

    Specs:

    1998 Pontiac Trans Am Convterbile

Does it do it when the alarm is set?

When you say up and down, do you mean it comes all the way up and down or it vibrates up/down while driving? Like something is loose and it's bouncing.

If it just the 1st one then it's looking like the plastic gear is going out. There are 2 ways to fix it. 1st one is turn the gear 180* and it should work fine till that side wears out or for permanent fix there is a brass or aluminum gear cost about $45/per.

If the second it will be a washer like spacer that has worn and has given some play in the post that holds the light up when turn on.
