    Headlight (low-beam) question.

On each of the low-beam sides of the headlights on my 02 Camaro, there is a small black thing (inside the headlight unit) that mostly surrounds the low-beam bulb.

Can anyone tell me what they're for?

    Thanks guys.

It's to focus the light beam where it needs to be and not allow the light to scatter.

Thanks guys, I suspected it was that but it's good to be certain.

Now my next question, is it removable or could I redirect it by pressing on it with my finger? I could get access via the hole where the bulb inserts.

The reason I ask is because I think it aims the beam slightly to the right, as I would expect for a car that was built to drive on the right side of the road. It does create a bit of an issue for me because we drive on the left in the UK, but to adjust it sufficiently for our roads means that quite an unsightly gap appears along bottom where the headlamp meets the front bumper.
