Headers and tune question

ok im about to buy some hooker LT with Slp high cats and after i get it ill be out of cash.i wont be able to buy a tuner for a while. would it be bad for the car to put these on and not get a tune?

if your getting the cats for smog purposes or less "drone"...go for it....anything else ..don't even bother buying em..

oh its fine if you run untuned with the headers....don't expect to have much of gain...the true gain is found after the tune..plan this out...a day before the tune...take off the egr/air...don't need that junk in there

Its an 02. No Egr I drove mine for about 6 months with no tune, like said above to get the most out of your instail you will need a tune and i reccomend a dyno tune and not a handheld.

I'm in the same boat. I just install Kooks long tube and y-pipe with no cats. Dont have any check engine lights and the motor does rev up faster. Its running more on the lean side and I'm get some pinging at WOT. I'm waiting to put in new fuel pump and larger injectors before I get the dyno tune. I was told I should see some decent gain after that. Hope for at least 20hp to the ground.
