Ride height is 3-4 inches depending on the model.

Side impact crash standards and lack of side curtain airbags killed it.

It would have cost too much money to re-engineer the car.

The Politics and labour union relations delayed the 5th Gen and cost Quebec their only automtive assembly plant.

As long as St Therese stood GM had to build any Camaro there and after they tore it down they couldn't build at any other plant for 5 years in keeping with the deal they had made with the union and the government.

    Never heard about this one.
I mean whats missing from 4th gens that aint missing from other models except maybe side air bags?
I mean you really think that was the reason, the union , politics, canadian plant issues w/ quality control also?
I mean aint there a crash bar inside doors better than the 3rd gens and previous camaros?
I thought reason it was killed was main reason lack of sales diminishing year after year something maybe cause it was low to the ground or bigger or something about mustang contributed in some way in average buyers minds? Costlier maybe?
Now this union ppolitics safety issue canadian plant ect does make alotta sense.

Why F bodys were killed? lotta reasons, theorys, suggestions, opinions, i hear the mustang, too much power scared average buyers , too low, lagging sales, no profit?
Engine tucked too far under winshield for repair scared mechanics?
    Too close to vettes performance?
In reality it is a vette for 1/2 the price actualy big bang for the buck in a way!
Union deal, canadas plant, not safety compliant , no air bag for sides!
Premium fuel? gas prices? But definitly a head turner to this day maybe more so.
Sought after? Maybe? Fewer mechanics willing to work on it?
It is a chevy though but a foreign car metric canadian?

A Camaro is not a Corvette. Lots of differences.

Yes they have a door bar and it made it slightly better than a 3rd Gen but all cars needed to be 5 star side impact rated by 2004.

V8 sales were not a problem,V6 sales were a problem.

CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy)standards at the time meant they need to sell 2 V6's for every V8 sold and it was exactly the reverse of that.

Besides the basic platform was now 20 years old, 1982 is when the chassis first seen action, sure it had been refined and enhanced but it was the essentially the same.

So lots of things conspired to kill it.
