Great job GM on our z28
Hello every one Last year we purchased a black 99 z28 convertible with 67000 miles on it for 10600.00 and I have not had any problems with it and now we have 87000 miles on it.It's been one of the best cars I have ever owned and When I tell people I get 24 miles to the gallon they look at me like I'm stoned The only thing I dont like about it is you cant turn the head lights off must be one of those safety things once again hello john

of course you know you just jinxed your good fortune with your car right?
Glad you're having so much luck with it. They are great cars in general. Every car has it's little quirks but the f-bodies for the most part are a good solid car. You can pull the e-brake up 1 click to shut the lights off.

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
Well said, Now that the Bitch bashing is over.
Lets get back on topic, I have 117K Original Owner (Me) Miles and all I've replaced is Drivers Window motor, Water pump one set of front brake pads and I went to Poly motor and trans mounts (too many High rpm drops from a roll)
Everything else was done under Warranty; A/C Compressor, EGR valve, Fuel level sending unit, and Drivers Headlight motor.
Did I mention She still has the Original Clutch also.Craig

Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
Congrats on the good reliability and I hope it continues.
FYI, you can override the headlights. If you really want them off. Here's how:
With the car OFF and not running, release the parking brake fully. Now raise it (slowly) to the very first click. Leave it there. Now start the car and drive. The lights will not come on unless you turn the switch or fully release the brake.
Now you will see the "brake" warning on the dash panel, but in that first notch, the parking brake isn't (or shouldn't be) engaged with friction.
This trick works with lots of different vehicles.
Hope that helps. The only time I've used this trick is to view X-mas lights where cars are allowed to drive with parking lights only instead of headlights at about 3 mph!!!
