    um anyone know how many miles you should change your gear oil at?

    there should be an interval schedule in the owners manual. i want to say it's every 50k.

    That sounds about right -- also, don't forget to pick up a bottle of limited slip additive.

    thanks i was just wondering, because i had 3:73's installed about 9 months ago, and was wondering how long can i go until i have to change it. when they were installed, redline gear oil was added along with limited slip additive from gm performance

    Most of the builders and gear manufacturers say to break it in then change the oil after 1500 miles - after that every 50 unless you beat on it, race a lot etc.

    Hey if you have change it yet get about 3 bottles of royal purple..

    will keep your rear end cooler and last longer..its what i have in my 9bolt..

    50K is what the manuel says. It specifies dino oil too FWIW. Additive if no torsen carrier... IIRC you will have some left over with 2qts.
