Gas Stabil or not?
My 02 hawk spends 98% of its life under car cover in my garage.I have turned just over 4000 miles. So, my question is about gas stabalizer.Anyone use that stuff?I just don't like the idea of adding stuff in the gas?
Any thoughts?

It's more important for 2-strokes...but yeah, go ahead and put it in there if the gas stays in it for a while w/o use.

I've used it the last couple of years for winter storage. No problem. I usually run it a couple of times during the winter months. Got a battery tender this year and not planning on firing it up.

I have used it for years with no issues. I'm not sure how much it helps, but it is cheap enough to warrant even a slight amount of protection from moisture and varnish.

Well if you dont use it then the gas will varnish up and clog up your fuel line and wont let you start up you car in the spring. IMO full tank and add staibl as directed..
i use it all the time.

Like I said b4, it's more important for 2-strokes b/c a lot of them have fuel tanks that are openly vented to the elements, and the ethanol in 2day's gas absorbs water which stabil helps prevent. It won't "hurt" anything to use it....only helps.

I went ahead and bought some Sta-bil. The only concern I have to adding anything to the fuel is the O2 sensors getting messed up. I had a bad spark plug one time and thought I had gotten some bad gas-so I put some octane boost(the $7 kind) in my tank and it made the o2 sensors turn a bluish color.
If all of you guys use it with no issues should be fine. I guess I worry a bit too much.
