Your screwed with emmisions bro. The cats being removed is what makes the ras gas smell so bad. Mines tuned and still has the smell. I'd think about getting some cats installed if your actually planning on passing emissions check.

I thought that they plug into the computer, and as long as there weren't any codes it should pass the emissions test.

also if the car is running to rich wouldn't the computer set off a service engine light or something to let you know there is a problem?

Its Not so much a "problem", its an end effect of running lt's and ory. It will run a lil rich but nothing to worry about. Like said above you can get some High flow cats. As far as passing emissions, as long as your not throwing any codes and they dont crawl under your vehicle you should be good to go.

Thats what I thought too, there are no codes or lights on. the car does have a loud mouth exhaust on it, and is quite loud especially put your foot down even a little. I hope that doesn't cause them to wanna look underneath.

I gotta pass e check with my TA and im gutting some old cats and tac welding them around the pipes on my car. Just to pass the visual check. 02 sims get me through the computer check. Im just gonna rip the cats off as soon as i get home and keep them for when i go again in 2 years

Varies from state to state...cali has a under hood visual, DTC and sensor status check and the sniffer test. Your state could have just 1 or all of the 3....you have to do some research.
Like the other guys said..the combination of running rich from the headers without a tune and no cats is causing the smell. I'd guess a tune alone would help a lot..
