Black- 1999 Camaro SS
fuel pump
I have a 99 SS and yesterday I was driving home and just as I was getting on the highway the engine stumbled and then shut off. It will no longer start. The fuel pump has been whinning for a while now and so my insticts says the pump finally gave out. I checked the relay and was good. What kind of pressure should I be getting on the fuel line. Anyone else have any ideas what it could be. Oh and When i turn the engine on I can hear the pump start but it is not even close to as loud as it was before.

check your pressure. Should prime up to ~58psi. Have you tried cycling the key on and off a couple of times to see if it'd start? Chances are though it sounds like your pump took a dump. Check fuel pressure first and if it's low look at the racetronix kit....very nice kit and cheaper than an OEM replacement.
