    Fuel Press. Regulator Q's.

So my dad brought my car to get checked out and it's getting 25 psi at the shraeder valve. I've already replaced the fuel pump and filter. The mechanic also took a look at my FPR and said it was a Bosch "mechanical" fpr. He said its not the stock one that should be on there. He said the factory FPR should be "vacuum operated". I figure it could be the fpr goin wack or a problem with one or more of the injectors. what do you guys think? what type of FPR should I get?

your fuel pressure regulator is in the tank as part of the pump module. I'm wondering if he was looking at the dampner between the rails that just evens out the pressure between the rails? That's not a fuel pressure regulator.

Is it possible that the dampner under the hood could be giving me issues? I'm sure that's what he looked at cuz he didn't drop the tank.

who did your fuel pump? It's somewhat common for that venturi tube on the 99+ to fall off after a fuel pump swap.

I did the fuel pump. I dropped the tank twice cuz after the initial swap the car drove and then wouldn't start. I then took out the pump thinking the hose popped off (which it didn't) but i replaced it anyway and the car started up and drove after putting the pump back in. Is this the venturi tube ur talking about?

yeah, what pump did you use to replace it with? I know some people with that 99+ tank cut their buckets so gas can get into it.

I don't quite understand what you are saying. so if i have a bad FPR i can just cut the bucket that goes around the pump to fix it? how can i find out if it is actually the FPR and not the dampner on the rail??
