It's simple mods that cost little or no money, such as coolant bypass, egr delete, I believe some consider port/polish throttle body a free mod.
Do a search for "free mod" and you'll probably find some good info.

I wouldnt descreen the MAF..............when I put my SLP lid on, a pine needle was trapped by the screen. With no screen it would have been in my engine

Thats what i've heard too... The SLP guy told me that only a "few" cars are able to run descreened, as their cars will be "immune" to the "turbulant air". If you remove it, your car should bog as you step on it. My baby cruises along, and has some gitty-yup without the screen.
Hasn't bogged yet either.
But luckily you had the screen there.... did the previous owner maybe not have the filter set right?

descreening the maf is a hit or miss mod. It really sux if you're one of the "miss" people though. It creates all kinds of headaches trying to gain that extra 1 or 2 HP. You would see bigger gains by removing the spare tire and jack without the risk of being the unlucky guy.

dont descreen your maf, waste of time and the screen is in there to straighten airflow so the sensors can read it correctly. free mods are definately worth it, they help, i love the heater hose mod to lower the rear end
