Fog light help
when i bought the car the fogs werent working, i figured it was a blown bulb on both of them so i went to replace them today, finally, and the bulb wasnt blown, so i changed it anyway and it still doesnt work.. I checked the wires leading to the bulb and they all seem fine from whut i can see, i dont know whut it could possibly be...? need some help

Could be a bad fuse(if the birds have foglight fuses) or maybe a bad switch. I can't remember if there is a foglight relay. Also, have you checked the grounds for each foglight?

IIRC, don't the birds have a rocker switch for the fogs? Does the switch light up when you turn the switch on? If the swich doesn't light up, then I would suspect a bad ground, or the switch was disconnected.

i changed the fog lamp fuse, doesnt work still.. i was trying to find the ground but cant find it, ill probably have to get up underneath the car, its getting too dark out now to do it too. You mean the switch to turn the headlights on too? im almost positive it lights up

Ok. Have you tried the high beams as well? If you have a bad dimmer switch, that could also keep the fogs off.

Ok. I am thinking either the switch is disconnected from the fogs or there is a bad ground.

Isn't the switch underneath the main headlight switch? And aren't the grounds bolted to the front bumper beam or radiator core support?

i dont think theres any switch underneath the headlight one. Theres 3 settings for the lights, off, then every light comes on except the lows, then the last setting is all lights on and the lights flip up with the lows on... Ill look for the ground later today i have to work all day

OK. I know on the GTOs you have to pull the switch out to activate the fogs. I think the F-bodies have a rocker switch for all the lights but I could have sworn there was a separate switch for the fogs.

I am thinking the switch is bad, there are bad grounds, or, possibly the fogs are disconnected either at the switch or at the light harnesses.

Either you will have to:
a-get a universal rocker switch for your fogs
b-replace current switch with proper unit
Someone cut corners with that car, sounds like.
