firehawk hood latch question

I just installed a original firehawk hood on my 00TA and bought one of these latches:http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...BIG=10405538-1 thinking it was gonna work but it's the same latch as my original one shouldn't this be the right one for an original slp hood?

your stock one will work.a friend & i modified my formula stock latch to work on my hawk hood.i called SLP & was told to bend the stock latch handle like a "fish-hook"???however it didnt seem to close right,so using a whiz-wheel he trimmed a tiny part off the latch handle & it works great
