    fans wont work

i have changed my coolant sensor on the head. with it plugged up the fans dont come on.with it unplugged they work and the car runs cool but i dont know for sure because the gauge doesnt work when i do that. the plug in is getting power what else could be the problem. i have changed 1 fan relay that was not working.

mine was running about 210-220 then cooling down when the fans would work.i have changed water pump,t-stat,and the coolant temp sensor, and the #3 relay. dont blow smoke and radiator doesnt boil over, gauge only shows hot. is there another sensor or switch. if it keeps up im going to install a toggle switch for the fans.

You should monitor the engine coolant temp with a scan tool so you know how warm the thing is. The Low speed comes on at 226 degrees, high speed comes on at 234 degrees.

You don't have to worry about damage until say 250 degrees or higher. If you want it to run cooler, consider installing a 160 or 180 degree t-stat and having the computer reprogrammed for the fans to come on earlier.

You could also keep your current t-stat and have the computer tuned for cooler fan temps.

Look at my recent posts... My fans weren't working you can do one of two things replace the motors that cost $41 at advanced auto or brand new ls1 fans ... I got new fans and now she is running great glad it's fixed
