Experience with Gibson Exhaust???
Looking at a car equipped with a Gibson exhaust system.
Anyone have any experience with it?? Sound, quality, etc....I never see mention of it here.
Would this be a crossflow muffler type system or an inline bullet style muffler????
Any comments or input welcome. I've heard the name but never heard the system. Curious what the sound would be comparable to. Thanks.

Black- 2002 Camaro SS M6
never installed a gibson system on a f body.
But we use them on quite a few trucks. IMO they are damn nice systems. The stainless steel systems look real sharp. and they sound damn nice on trucks ... although i never installed any on a f body.
as for whether they are crossflow or not.... i shall check.

Thanks, tried their website but it sucks. Get the main page but once you start clicking around you get nothing but errors...

Cheap. Will not last like a quality product. You get what you pay for.

I had gibson on my 4.3 sonoma and I was very happy overall. The only problem is I only got 4-5 years befor it rotted off however it was a daily driver in all 4 seasons so the salt had a lot to do with it.

Arctic White- 2000 Camaro Z28
Firebirdjones, I sent an email regarding how they sound. I got the polished stainless steel (like the borla, but reasonably priced) catback. I like it fine.
I just tried their site, it is bad with errors????
I found some info here...

I am not positive but pretty sure it was stainless, the weld at the muffler is what rotted and I welded it up and got another 6 months or so out of it.Sure enough that weld rotted as well other than that the rest of the exhaust was in tact so I added a cherry bomb turbo muffler to the gibson tail pipe and all is still great and that was three years ago.

Artic White- 00 SS Vert.
I installed a Gibson stainless system on my 05 GMC 5.3. It fits and sounds good. Not really loud enough for me.

well i checked the catalogues at work today, and all they advertise is that the systems are use very free flowing mufflers. They dont mention anything about it being a crossflow muffler. their site would probably have more info, but last i checked it was full of errors.
other than that, we have installed many of them on trucks. never dropped one on a car. they are generally nice systems, the stainless system is what i would recommend, even with the extra bit of weight, it'll last forever.
