Engine Won't Crank

I got into my car today and went to start it, turned the key and nothing happened. There wasn't any clicking noises, there was nothing. The engine wouldn't crank. My lights, stereo, windows and everything else works fine so I know it's not a battery issue. It's a 2001 automatic V6. When I turn the key to on/ignition, the SES light stays lit the check gages light stays lit, and the security light flashes. I have basically reduced it to being that the starter is bad or that the security system has become faulty and the lock cylinder no longer recognizes my keys(I tried both). Anybody else had this problem and what was the fix? Thanks

Thanks, that's exactly what it was. I went and got a carwash today though and my security light popped on and stays lit. Is there any way to make this go away(besides paying $330 to get a new lock cylinder and keys made at the stealership)?

I did that, but the security light still pops on and off while I'm driving. I added a resistor that matched my key, but while I'm driving the security light turns on and off.
