    Engine ping

Ok guys I need some serious help. My 02 camaro m6 has bad ping at high rpm at wot. Now i tried everything from a full tune up to a fuel filter. and everything in between. I always run 93 octane. Last time i was on here someone suggested checking the fuel pressure at a wot run, so that is what i did today. at idle i had a perfect 57psi. but wot up at high rpm i dropped to about 50-52 psi. these numbers seem pretty normal to me what do you guys think. I NEED A PROFESSIONAL OPINION. Is this right and if not what do i do next. please help. thanks

You can't determine if you're getting the right flow from the pressure under WOT, you need to read the flow rate and the 02 reading but 50 - 52 when the injectors are flowing at a high rate should be plenty.

When did the pinging start? When you say full tune - you mean a tuner? Is the PCM stock or has it been modified? What temp is the engine running at?

Ping is either lean, too much timing, too hot, too much compression, or too many deposits on the pistons.

First thing then, has anything changed to affect those things?

no, sorry when i said tune i meant a tune up spark plugs wires filters ect. i never had the pcm altered but i only had the car for the past two years and it has been pinging since i had it. so the previous owner might have messed with the pcm, i dont know. my next step is gonna be to get it on a dyno and have it corrected, but i just wanted to rule out any possible mechanical problems first. I dont believe it is deposits because i also tried seafoam and an octane booster and niether of those worked.
