    engine offset

    Maybe my eyes are bad but it seems like my Z28 LS1 is offset in my car WHY is that?

    You do realize that v8-v6 engine banks are usually offset right? Meaning one bank of cylinders is farther forward than the other...

    the engine is offset so as to make the driveshaft offset.....cant have it strait

    sorry i didnt clarify my engine is offset to the passenger side was wondering why they did that it the first camaro ive owned that is like that.

    Sadly now demodded :(

    Early BBC Camaros offset the engine/tranny to the right by 1-1/2" so the exhaust would clear the steering gear box.

    To a certain extent you are correct as the u-joint needs to describe an ovoid to function properly.
