Engine Light Issues

i have a 2007 silverado classic with 4.8l V8. the engine light is on and i put the reader on it and it said the HVAC. i cleared it and it still comes back. what can i do to get rid of it or fix it? the codes are...

P0442 - EVAP Emission Control System Leak (small).
P0449 - EVAP Emission Control System Vent Vlv/SoL Malf.

i have no idea what this means, hope someone can tell me what to do to fix this thanks.

How many miles are on the truck? I believe the emission systems on those are warrantied for 80,000 miles. If it's over that put a vent solenoid on it. (it's near the fuel tank under the truck)

Yeah probably your cat or an o2 sensor.

po449 is a evap emisions vent valve problem, you will need a new vent valve. there is a updated part now for this problem. gm has updated a new style vent valve need to go to dealer if you are out of factory warranty the dealer might good will repairs.

PO442 could be as simple as your gas cap not installed correctly

A bad gas cap or non conforming one ( non genuine replacement)
A small leak or hole in a fuel vapor hose or tube
Some other small leak in the EVAP system
Or a faulty O-ring seal
