    Engine light/ABS INOP.

    1st problem ive noticed is my service engine light comes on after i drive around, but when i turn off the car and turn it back on it wont come on untill i drive some more, im thinking of some sensor maybe O2, and my second problem is i was moving mine and my moms car around so i dont gotta get up at 7am to move it, but i noticed my ABS INOP light is on. any help will do thx.

    take your car to advanced auto or autozone and they'll read the code for free. The light has to be lit before their scanners will read it I believe. I'm pretty sure most of those places use entry level scanners.
    The abs inop *could* be from dirty sensors. Check the sensors at the wheels and see if there's crud on them.

    all the advanced auto and autozone here the car has to be a 98 and up for there scanners to read, and prolly a stupid noob question but where are wheel sensors just behind the brakes?

    If you hunt around you can find an obd1 scanner at a parts store for ~$10-15. I would have to look it up but there are 2 pins you can jump on obd1 with a paper clip to pull codes. I forget off the top of my head which pins it is you jump.
    Yes, the sensor reads a reluctof off the back of the rotor so you would have to pull the rotors off.

    well i whent to pick up a buddy to go get his car, and my volts meter droped and my gauges started to go all funky they would drop and raise even the speedometer when i would come to a stop and to take get rolling the revs wuld go up to about 3k to get rolling. any help would be excellent i hope its a battery or an altornater not a hugh electrical problem or im selling the car.

    My daughters old 94 camaro did the same thing. It's the alternator.

    fantastic, well is it a easy fix on these cars since the alternator is right up front or is it best to take it to a mechanic, and i though to myself i need power so im gonna try and sell the car.

    got the alternator replaced today 3bolts and a plug, like a 45min job, replacing that i havent seen the engine light, ABS light, Check gauge light so i figure its time to try and sell the car.
