Engine coolant light sensor.... worth replacing?

    Hey guys,
My engine coolant light keeps coming on and I know that the coolant is full in both the reservoir and the radiator. When the car was under warranty I took the car in like 6 times for the same light and they never fixed the problem. Is it worth buying a new after market sensor or do you guys just unplug it or ignore the light and check the fluid often? Thanks guys

They go bad all the time - don't understand why they had such a problem solving it - a new GM sensor should've worked? Anyway, a lot of people just disconnect it - my car doesn't even have one, along with all the others from 00-02.

Anyone know if you can trick the Computer into thinking its fine? With either a resister or jumping pins at the connector? How does the sensor work?

Just disconnect it and the light will stay off - zip tie it out of the way.

I replaced mine, it was only $41.00 for me since I was wearing my pep boys shirt at the time I used to work. I think its worth replacing, because it really works when ur low on coolant.

A friend of mine last name is Sears - he always seems to get a discount if he orders over the phone and has them set the part aside to pick up.

The sensor is on the radiator, a few inches below the radiator cap.
