Emissions testing Qs
So Missouri is switching over to a PCM check only on 96 and newer cars, for emisisons. If i dissable all the EGR and AIR codes will that be detected when they scan the car? Will the OBD2 pass its car without EGR and AIR?

Not the one to talk to because we don't have emissions in Florida - but yeah, if all they're doing is reading codes and they've been turned off properly shouldn't be a problem. Surprised they're going all the way back to '96, maybe they're going to let some years get away with a couple "not readies"? TTT for you.

in ny they have the same thing, and egr will set off a code unless you get it deleted by a tune. i hear a.i.r. isnt so much of a big deal, but i would get the stuff tuned out first before emissions check, or hook everything up right and just take it off after.

If the codes are disabled properly, yes it should pass the OBDII test w/flying colors. In northern Va., even if the technician sees that you have EGR or AIR removed, as long as it passes the computer test, he cannot override it.

You should have a problem like tbe others said..as long as it's tuned right. I tuned out my 02's for California smog with just the predator handheld and it passed just fine...

its been that way here for a long time. '96-'00 are allowed two monitors not set. '01 up just one. tuned right they will all show ready and it will pass.
