    electrical problem

Ok guy's I have a 98 firebird with the LS1 in it. the problem is all my lights flicker from bright to dim and my volt gauge is also flickering up and down. I though it may be a bad ground so i added a grounding strap and it still does it. has anyone else had this issue or know a cure for this. Thanks Wade

You're alternator may be going bad. Autozone can check it for free.

Yepp, get your charging system checked, also make sure your battery terminals are good and tight and clean. Just curious but where did you "Add" a ground?

if you have a multimeter you can put it across the battery terminals with the car running and see what your voltage is doing there. It should be ~14.4 volts and pretty steady. Like those guys said, sounds like a possible alternator issue.
